Getting Started Guide: Bidding on RevvBid and Purchasing Vehicles

Step 1: Create an Account

To participate in auctions, you need a free account on RevvBid.

• Registration Process:
  1. Visit revvbid.com and click "Register Free"
  2. Enter your full name, email address, and create a password.
  3. Verify your email if prompted. Registration is quick and free.

No paid memberships exist—everyone gets full access to browse and bid with a free account. No dealer license is required, making it ideal for individual buyers.

Step 2: Find and Research Vehicles

RevvBid’s inventory includes a wide range of salvage and clean title vehicles, updated daily.

• Searching for Vehicles:
  1. Use search filters on the homepage or inventory page to sort by make, model, year, location, condition (salvage or clean title), mileage, or price.
  2. Explore categories like cars, trucks, SUVs, motorcycles, and more, with over 153,800 listings.
  3. Review vehicle details, including photos, condition reports, VIN, and damage history. Research the vehicle’s background (e.g., via external services) to assess value and repair costs.
• Wishlist Feature:
  • Add vehicles to your Wishlist to track favorites and monitor their auction status.
• Cost Planning:
  • Visit the Fee Calculator Page to estimate total costs of auction fees.

Step 3: Start Proxy Bidding

RevvBid uses a proxy bidding system, allowing you to set a maximum bid and let the platform bid for you.

• How to Proxy Bid:
  1. Select a vehicle from your search or Wishlist.
  2. Enter your maximum bid in the auction interface
  3. Submit a deposit which will be calculated based on the desired bid amount for that car, via credit card.
  4. Our system takes an authorization on that amount. If you win the auction, we capture the bid. If you lose the auction, we release the authorization on the deposit amount and it goes back into your credit card. You will see our authorizations under “pending” on your credit card statement. 
  5. The system bids incrementally up to your maximum, competing against other bidders.
  6. Monitor your bids via your account dashboard.
• Bidding Tips:
  • No limits on bids or purchases.
  • Set a realistic max bid based on your budget and vehicle research.
  • Contact customer service for help with your first bids.

Step 4: After Winning a Bid – Payment, Pickup, and Title

Winning a bid starts the process of finalizing your purchase and taking ownership.

• Payment:
  1. Receive a confirmation email with the final bid price, fees, and total due.
  2. Pay the full amount which will include the final auction price, third party auction fees, and RevvBid's service fee via wire transfer within 1-3 business days.
• Pickup:
  • You must coordinate your own vehicle pickup from the auction facility.
  • Arrange transport within the storage window (typically 3-5 days) to avoid extra fees.
  • For salvage vehicles needing repairs, remember you will need towing or professional hauling services as the wheels cannot be rolled, it must be on a flat bed. 
• Title Delivery:
  • The vehicle title (clean or salvage) will be mailed to you by RevvBid after payment and paperwork are finalized.

What to Expect When Purchasing a Vehicle

RevvBid can offer savings of 20-50% compared to retail, but plan for additional considerations.

  • Buyer’s Premium: RevBid's $150 service fee
  • Taxes and Registration: State-specific sales tax when you register the car in your state
  • Transport and Repairs: Transportation costs can vary widely based on distance, timing, and other factors. Coordinate with your transporters to understand your transportation cossts. 
• Timeline:
  • Bid to ownership generally is between 2-4 weeks, including payment, pickup, and title mailing.
  • Delays in pickup may incur storage fees.
  • There may be delays in mailing the title
• Support:
